PM to address rallies ahead of J&K Polls

Jammu: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive in Jammu on Friday to address the masses ahead of the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir polls. As per sources from the BJP, Modi will be addressing rallies in Udhampur and Poonch districts of Jammu.

When Modi had addressed a rally in the town of Kishtwar ahead of the first phase of polls which saw more than 40,000 people gather in attendance. The BJP workers in the state are expecting an even greater gathering of BJP supporters this time round.

The three districts going for the polls in the second phase on the 2nd of December from the Jammu region are Poonch (Surankote, Poonch Haveli and Mendhar constituencies), Resai (Resai and Gool Arnas) and Udhampur (Ramnagar, Chenani and Udhampur). In the Kashmir valley the districts include Kulgam (Noorabad, Devsar, Homeshalibagh and Kulgam) and Kupwara (Handwara, Karnah, Lolab, Kupwara and Langate contituencies).

The state saw a record 70% voter turnout in the first phase. The second phase of voting is to be held on the second of December.
