Ultimate Uttarakhand Himalayan MTB Challenge to be flagged off from Nainital

Additional Secretary Tourism Ashish Joshi apprised that ‘ The Ultimate Uttarakhand Himalayan MTB Challenge ’ is being organized from 6th to 14th May 2015 first time in State with joint effort of Cycling Federation of India and Uttarakhand Tourism under the ADB aided IDIPT. Competition would be flagged off on 6th May,2015 from Nainital. Opening ceremony of the race would be held on 7th May 2015 from Nainital and first day race would reached Almora after covering 85 Km distance via Bhawali, Khutani, Padampuri, Kwarab etc. Second day, on 8th May 2015 race would reach Gwaldam via Kosi, Kosani, Garur, Bhaijnath after covering 125 Km distance. On 9th May 2015 race would reach Rudraparyag for night stay of third day after covering 142 Km distance via Tharali, Narayanbagad, Karanparyag, pokhri, kanakchori,Saterakhal . Forth day of 10th May, 2015 participants would reach New Tihri via New Tihari dam, Tilwara, Bainoli, Mayali, Chinbatiya, Ghansali, Peepaldali, Tipari after covering 108 Km distance. On the 11th May participants would take rest in New Tihari. On 12th May 2015 race would reach Chilyanisaur via Chamba, Kaman, Kodisaur starting from New Tihari. This day total 79 Km distance would be covered. Last day of the race, on the 13th 2015 race would finish in Massoori after covering the distance of 86 Km via Moriyana, Roto ki Beli, Suakholi, Botaghat from Chilyanisaur. On 14th May 2015, award distribution ceremony would be held in Dehradun. Total 625 Km distance would be covered by the participants in aforementioned race.

According to Additional Secretary Tourism this competition would be organized in both categories as individual and team. For the purpose different awards would be distributed. Anyone can participate in the race after registration at www.cyclingfederationofindia.org on the basis of qualification decided by Cycling Federation Of India. A Website called www.mtbuttarakhand.co.in has been opened for the mass awareness among common people concerned with above said contest. Maximum 90 Participants can participate in the race. Registration is free of cost and stay and food facilities would be arranged by sponsorship of Uttrakhand Tourism.

He expected that adventure tourism would be promoted through earlier stated contest and riders from the different regions of the county would come here. As a result, massage of safe Uttarakhand would spread throughout the world and local youngsters would be interested in cycling.
