Nepal jolted by another big earthquake, tremors felt across India

A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Mount Everest in Nepal on Tuesday, just weeks after another devastating quake killed more than 8,000 people and destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes in the capital Kathmandu.
“The quake measured 7.4 on richter scale with epicentre somewhere in Nepal,” an IMD official said.
Immediately after the quake at around 12:35 PM, panic- stricken people were seen rushing out of buildings in Delhi.
Four people are dead after a magnitude-7.3 earthquake struck Nepal, more than two weeks after a devastating quake killed more than 8000 people.

The first casualties were reported in the central Chautara district, where buildings were destroyed, killing four people, a spokesman for the International Organisation for Migration said.

Earthquake shocks felt across India

The ripples energy released by the 7.4 magnitude earthquake was enough to create panic among residents of North and North East India as its power was felt from Delhi to Kolkata.

Tremors felt in Uttarakhand

Tremors were felt in all the 13 districts of Uttarakhand including Dehradun, Haridwar, Nainital and Pithoragarh which is close to Nepal border, Anand Sharma, Director of MeT office here said.

Epicenter of Quake near Mount Everest Base camp

The quake struck at a depth of 15km deep, 68km west of Namche Bazaar, near the base camp for Mount Everest, the United States Geological Survey said.
