India vs Pakistan Hockey World League semi final ends in a draw

Both team score 2 goals each

An India-Pakistan clash in any sport is bound to draw crowds and Friday’s Hockey World League semi final was no different with the two Asian giants taking on each other in a high octane encounter.

India took the lead through Ramandeep Singh but a double strike from Mohammad Imran saw Pakistan go ahead in the much-awaited match that lived up to its billing. Ramandeep though helped India draw level courtesy a brilliant reverse flick effort to draw India level in the game.

The Indian defence gave a fine exhibition, but there were a lot of wayward marksmanship by their strikers as Pakistan also fell back to defend stoutly in the first encounter since the Champions Trophy semifinals.

The draw gives India seven points from three outings in Pool A ahead of the fixture against World champions Australia on Sunday.  Pakistan now have four points from three matches, having lost the match against Australia 6-1.
