AAP planning to add 25 lakh members from Punjab

Aam Aadmi Party launches Punjab Jodo campaign from 20th Aug to 31st Aug

The Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) who won four seats in Punjab in the general election held last year and which was the only state AAP had won any seats in last years Lok Sabha election. Keeping this in mind, the AAP think tank has decided to enroll more than 25 lakh candidate by the end of next month.

In a press conference organized on Saturday, Col (retired) CM Lakhanpal, zonal coordinator, Aam Aadmi Party, Ludhiana, said 3,000 membership stalls are being set up in the state every day. Social media is also being used to aid the membership drive. “Besides, people can give a missed call on 8007006003 to become a member,” he said.

After completing the circle and booth committees, the AAP has started a mass membership campaign- Punjab Jodo- from August 20 to 31. The party targets to make 25 lakh new members in Punjab or almost 20,000 in each assembly constituency, he added.

According to the AAP’s zonal coordinator, the Jan Sabhas will be followed by a gherao of Punjab Assembly or chief minister’s residence in protest against corruption and drug menace.

“Aam Aadmi Party will ensure that Punjabis are made aware how corruption during the regimes of the SAD-BJP and Congress governments destroyed the state. The only way to save the future generation from the menace of drug addiction is to uproot this corrupt regime and bring in good governance with Aam Aadmi Party,” he added.
