Idea, Vodafone networks in Haldwani also go down
Dehradun/Nainital: All communications were severely hit when BSNL network got jammed for a second consecutive day. Users of the government owned Bharatiya Sanchar Nigam Limited suddenly went of the grid around 3 PM last evening in Dehradun last evening and were unable to make or receive any calls. Users in Haldwani and Nainital too reported facing similar problems. The banking sector which is heavily dependent on the BSNL internet too was severely hit. Similar type of problem had occurred a day before also but was rectified relatively quickly hence didn’t effect many users, but last evening the problem got aggravated and lasted for around 6 hours.
Vodafone and Idea subscribers also faced communication problems last evening in the Haldwani and Nainital region. Sources said that the cables of the two telecom giants had been severed during digging up of a patch of Haldwani-Bhimtal road.
Ironically, the central government had issued multiple notices to BSNL ordering it to improve its service quality.
