Former CM ND Tiwari wants an AIIMS in Haldwani

Veteran Congress leader ND Tiwari,has demanded that Dr Sushila Tiwari Government Medical College and Hospital should be converted into an AIIMS for the good of people of the region.

Father-son duo of ND Tiwari and Rohit Shekhar is on a four day visit to Haldwani since Wednesday. The 90-year-old former CM Tiwari, accompanied by his wife Ujjwala and son, at the press conference on Thursday, said, “The medical college should be converted into AIIMS.”

Rohit Shekhar, son of Tiwari and advisor to UP government, said, “My whole family, including my ancestors from maternal and paternal side have sacrificed a lot for the country and will keep doing so for the good of people of this nation. Basic amenities like health services should be robust to save lives.”

They will also be meeting employees of Hindustan Machine Tools factory and will also visit the family of Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami of 9 Para (Special Forces)/6th Battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles, a resident of Haldwani who was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, for for his role in saving two colleagues during an encounter with militants in Kashmir last year.
