Railway staff to go on strike on July 11

DN Chaubey, secretary, All India Railway Men Federation, said the railway employees had decided to go on a one-day strike on July 11 in support of their year-long pending demands.

He was addressing mediapersons at a press conference here today.

Chaubey alleged that the Central Government had not taken any steps to fulfill their demand despite a memorandum submitted to government officials concerned. The association members were strictly against the implementation of New Pension Scheme (NPS), he claimed.

He said a memorandum highlighting their demands, including FDI, better pay and perks etc, had been submitted to government officials many times but to no avail. The Centre should implement the 7th Pay Commission from January 1, 2014, Chaubey demanded.

The federation secretary informed the media that Prince Chatturvedi had been appointed as the youth coordinator of the newly formed youth wing of the federation.
