Daylight kidnapping attempt averted in Nainital

Mall Road in Nainital witnessed a lot of drama on Sunday afternoon when six people who were trying to abduct a couple from Haridwar who had allegedly eloped and come to Nainital, were apprehended by the police.
Police sources said that the couple had come to Nainital a day before and the six people who hailed from Roorkee, had reached soon after trying to trace them.

“We have apprehended six people and the case is being investigated. The couple seems to have taken the decision by consent,” said Harish Chandra Sati, additional superintendent of police, Nainital.

The incident took place at around 1pm on Sunday when the six people were nabbed by local residents while they were trying to abduct 20-year-old Ashu Pal and her husband Veer Singh.
