Twitter will launch live video application programming interface after this week

In a bid to make easier for media firms to post live video broadcasts, micro-blogging website Twitter will launch Live video application programming interface (API) later this week.
Earlier this month, Twitter has partnered with ESL and Dreamhack — two of the biggest organisations in the pro-gaming world — to live stream tournaments and other e-sports events.
The API will let companies hook up professional broadcasting and video editing equipment to Twitter with more powerful integrations than Twitter’s existing Periscope Producer feature.
Twitter’s Live API will function similar to Facebook Live API and will connect professional equipment to the social platform.
The live streams on Twitter will also include advertising packages with TV style ad spots combined with original highlight and recap clips that advertisers can sponsor and promote on Twitter.
More than 15 events in the ESL One, Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) and DreamHack circuits will be live streamed globally on Twitter and connected devices.
