Amit Shah hits out at Rahul Gandhi, says dynasty rule a norm in Congress

Reacting to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s remark on dynasty, Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah who is on a two-day visit to Uttarakhand said BJP has ended the dynastic rule in India.

“I hail from a non-political background and a party like BJP has chosen me as its national president. It shows the existing internal democracy within the party,” he said interacting to the media on Tuesday evening.

“Is it possible in any other party? A tea seller, hailing from a financially weak background, was given a chance to run the world’s biggest democracy. This is the democracy present within the BJP, which makes it take such decisions, which no other party can even dream of,” the BJP chief said.

Reacting sharply to the Congress vice president’s remark made in the US, Shah said, “Recently Rahul Gandhi had gone to the US, where he spoke that most Indian political parties were dynastic and Indian politics worked like that. We have reached here without the help of any dynasty. Let me remind Rahul that dynastic politics is not the nature of the country but that of the Congress party.”

“Do not enforce dynastic politics on the country. Only those parties which have risen above the dynasty lines have been successful in doing things in favour of the nation,” he said.

Taking a swipe at the Congress leadership, he said that everyone knows that Sonia Gandhi is the Congress chief and they are also aware who would be here successor. “But does anyone know that who would be the BJP national chief after me. Even I don’t know. This is the beauty of our party.”
