Snowfall in Badrinath, Kedarnath as temperature falls across Uttarakhand

The weather changed in upper regions of Uttarakhand on thursday and there was snowfall in the high Himalayan peaks including Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham in the evening. Rainfall lashed munusari town of Pithoragarh. According to the Meteorological Department, snowfall can continue in the Himalayan region for the next one-two days.

In Uttarakhand, the mercury has fallen constantly in the last one week signalling the onset of winters.  Snowfall in the high Himalayan region, including the Badrinath and Kedarnath peaks, lowered the temperature in the state. The morning weather in Pithoragarh and nearby areas including Munasari was clear but there were light clouds above peaks. Suddenly the weather changed in the afternoon there was heavy snowfall in the peaks of the Himalayas including the Panchachuli, Rajaramba, Hunsling, Nanda Coat, Nanda Devi, Chhipalkarar and Millam area.
