Schools closed in Mumbai due to heavy rains

In Mumbai, it has been raining intermittently since Wednesday morning, due to which the problems of people have increased considerably. Waterlogging has taken place on roads. Due to the Ganpati Festival all around in Mumbai, most people are on the streets, due to this, people are suffering a lot due to the filling of water outside the pandals. Many trains have been canceled after warnings of heavy rains. The BMC has ordered the schools, colleges to be closed on Wednesday. The Colaba Meteorological Department has recorded 80 mm rainfall and has issued an Orange alert with heavy rain warning till 6 September. Due to the rains, a lot of water has been flooded in Sian, Parel, Dadar and Byculla areas of Mumbai. It is also having a wide impact on traffic.

Due to continuous in Mumbai, there has been waterlogging on railway tracks in Vasai and Virar, due to which the traffic system is chaotic, some trains have also been cancelled by Western Railway.

Flood-like conditions have occurred in Nala Sopara in Palghar due to heavy rains in Maharashtra.

School college closed

Following the issuance of the Meteorological Department’s warning, the BMC has ordered the school colleges to be closed on Wednesday, but the schools and colleges where students are already, have requested the principal to take precautions regarding the safety of children.
Traffic affected

Due to waterlogging in place of rain, the route of the BEST buses has also been changed. Traffic is also being affected due to rain. Airlines and local trains are running late at the airport. The BMC has prohibited people from going to the sea in view of the high waves rising in the sea. For the convenience of the people, BMC has also issued helpline number-1916.
