Women Power diverts river course

Srinagar/Pauri: After their numerous requests fell on deaf ears, the village women took it upon themselves to divert the river channel back towards the Kilkileshwar pier. Under the guidance of the village headman of Gorsali Vasudev Bhatt, 80 women belonging to the villages of Gorsali, Ranihat and Vairangana joined hands to complete the task.

All the women including top village officials toiled hard from the 21^st of December to divert the river channel back towards the pier. The fruits of their hard work paid off when the cool waters of the Alaknanda river started flowing again at the pier. Bhatt further stated that the work will continue until the river channel regains its full flow at the pier.
