Muffler Man to Delhi’s rescue?

AAP Volunteers’ latest campaign initiative is a gaming App named Muffler Man. The game has been developed by Aam Aadmi Party Volunteers in association with Digital Agents Interactive Private Limited in an effort to increase donations. “We wanted to use the Muffler Man tagline and impart the ideals of our party which are honesty, fighting against corruption and women safety,” said Mohit Ramani, an engineer, who along with six volunteers developed the game.

The protagonist of the game is faceless representing the common man

The team has decided to keep Muffler Man faceless so as to represent the common man. The game is based on popular Android game Doodle Jump, but with a twist. The lead character in this game has to jump over platforms, which represent the issues faced by common man in India. “There are platforms like women safety, water supply and good governance which the player will have to cross to keep moving in the game. Then we have some platforms like Janlokpal, which can make the player jump two platforms at once. The player can get powers by getting broom. With every third broom you get some extra power,” Ramani said.

Corruption is the root cause of all the problems

Corruption is represented as the root cause of all problems in the game. As the game progresses, the player encounters tougher platforms and their frequency also increases.

Background changes as per location of user

Ankit Lal, who heads AAP’s social media cell added “Our focus is to increase donation. We will link all new campaign hashtags on the game page. The game will also change background depending on location, so if you are playing it in Delhi it will have India Gate as the background while in Mumbai it will change to Taj hotel.”

The game is available for free on Google Play Store. Its iOS and Windows version are also being developed and are expected to launch soon.
