It’s a girl for India’s captain cool

Dhoni’s wife gave birth to their first child on Friday and while he was delighted by the arrival of his daughter he was totally focussed on the World Cup.

“Mum and daughter both are good,” he said. The family and friends of Dhoni at Ranchi expressed lot of happiness after hearing the news. “This is second big good news for the family. The first one was when Dhoni debuted for Team India and the feeling that we have today is exactly the same,” said his brother in law Gautam Gupta.

Captain Focused on #bringitback

“As of now I am on national duties (the) World Cup is a very important campaign, and everything else can wait.” said Dhoni on being asked how he felt on missing the birth of his first child.

Everyone has an equal chance of winning the world cup

The cricket World Cup could be won by any one of the “balanced” six or seven teams in the fray, according to India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.”I feel this World Cup, most of the teams, they are quite balanced, and most of the teams are looking good,” Dhoni said in a pre-World Cup media conference on Saturday.

“When I say most, it’s in excess of six or seven teams that I’m talking about. So I feel it will be a very special World Cup for all the teams.

Hopes the break would have helped Team India

India’s Mahendra Singh Dhoni is hoping that a break in a long summer tour of Australia has recharged his men for the World Cup and has not left them “over-cooked”. “It’s not easy to play four Test matches… followed by a tri-nation series,” Dhoni told reporters in Adelaide. “So this break would have definitely helped them to recharge their batteries … only time will tell.” India begin the defence of their World Cup title against traditional rivals Pakistan on February 15 in Adelaide.
