Another Feather in the Cap: Saina enters first final of All England Badminton Championship

Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal created yet another milestone by reaching the All Engand Badminton Championship. She also became the first Indian women to do so. Third-seeded Saina overcame Sun Yu of China 21-13, 21-13 in the semi-finals at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham.
On International Women’s Day, two inspiring women will take to the court to battling to become YONEX All England champion.
Saina Newhal of India and Carolina Marin of Spain will battle it out for the prestigious title in a fitting finale.
Saina is now just one step away from joining Indian legends Prakash Padukone (1980) and P Gopichand (2001) who have bagged the prestigious title in the past. With the win, Saina also became the first Indian women to reach into the finals of prestigious event. Earlier, Saina humbled fifth seeded Wang Yihan 21-19, 21-6 for the first time in more than two years.
“It is a big event and everyone dreams of winning,” she said later “This is a big hurdle and everyone (in India) expects a lot of me.”
