AIPMT 2015: SC directs CBSE to conduct fresh AIPMT exams within 4 weeks

In a first, the Supreme Court on Monday cancelled the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) in the wake of grave irregularities in conducting the exam on May 3.

A bench led by Justice R K Agrawala ordered the CBSE and all other authorities to conduct the exam afresh within four weeks from today.

CBSE says 4 weeks not enough to conduct exams

The Central Board of Secondary Education said on Monday that it will approach the SC to seek more time to conduct AIPMT 2015, saying it is not possible to conduct the retest in four weeks.The board said that it will move the apex court to explain that the test-preparation for AIPMT takes seven months.

The CBSE initially denied the incidents of leak. The SC also asked the police to identify as many candidates as possible who had been benefited from the alleged leak.

The board was scheduled to declare the results on June 5, which the SC stayed.
