Cloud burst causes disruption of services

Ranikhet/Almora: A cloud burst that occurred Thursday evening in the remote regions of Tadikhet block has disrupted normal life in the region. The sudden outburst of water damaged the water pipelines while the heavy sediments from the mountains caused water blockage in the storage tanks. No damage to life has been reported thus far, although the roads connecting to interior villages have been severely damaged. SDM SP Vajpayee inspected the region to asses the damages.

Local villagers reported heavy rains during 1:30 A.M and 2:00 A.M on Thursday night was the cause of damage. The small rivulets in the region turned into major streams causing the distruction of not only essential services but crops and farmlands as well.
