Cloudburst in Tehri claims one life

Ghansali and Jaspur towns affected

 New Tehri: A cloudburst in Ghansali and Jaspur towns of New Tehri district claimed one life while seven others were injured. The incident occurred last night  when two houses collapsed after a cloudburst in Jaspur town of Ghansali block. Several other houses were also damaged by the debris from the incessant water. Animal shelters were also reported to be damaged by the nature’s wrath.

According to eye witness the incident occured last night at around 3:30 A.M when the locals heard a thunderous noise from nearby hills which was followed by large volume of water gushing towards the town. One person got trapped in the debris and unfortunately lost his life while seven others were injured.
