Hemkunt Saheb and Reetha Saheb added to “Mere Buzurg Mere Teerth” program by the government

Dehradun: Hemkunt Saheb and Reetha Saheb have been added to ‘Mere Buzurg Mere Teerth’ scheme for the Punjabi community. A Punjabi and Urdu Academy will also be soon established in the state. Land will be provided for Gyaan Godrhi in Hardwar near River Ganga this year.

While addressing the Uttarakhand Punjabi Bhaichara Sammelan at Amreek Hall in Race Course, Chief Minister Harish Rawat, said that the Punjabis have proved themselves in every field all over the world. Uttarakhand is like a bouquet of varied communities and cultures of which Punjabis are an important segment.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat said that the government is keen on providing ownership rights to those who occupy Category 4 land. The CM stated that if required, there will also be amendment in Government Order.

He further added that the government has given complete attention to Hemkunt Saheb as the fifth Dhaam. The work on ropeway will commence this year. A helipad is also being developed.

A direct road will be constructed from Nanak Matta to Reetha Saheb. A unit of Punjabi language in literature will be introduced in Sridev Suman University.

The CM said that Uttarakhand is a small state but it is a representation of the entire world.

The state has all the potential, it will only take us all to work together in order to develop the state.

Present on the occasion were President State Minority Commission Narendrajeet Singh Bindra, Former Minister Tilakraj Behad, MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, Rajkumar and Pradeep Batra among others.
