3rd front party leaders to meet in New Delhi

  • Meeting to take place at Sharad Pawar’s residence
  • Mamta Banerjee, Mulayam Singh, Sharad Yadav to discuss future political strategies, Kejriwal likely to attend

New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will meet NCP leader Sharad Pawar here after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are likely to join them, sources said.

“Tomorrow we are meeting at Sharad Pawar’s residence. I think Kejriwalji is going there and other party leaders are also expected to come,” Banerjee had said after meeting Kejriwal on Tuesday.

“We are meeting over tea,” Pawar said on Tuesday on being asked about the agenda for the leaders from different parties getting together. Political strategies of the 3rd front in the future is likely to be the discussion topic over tea on Wednesday.

Kejriwal thanks “Mamta Di” for her hospitality

Yesterday, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had met his West Bengal counter part Mamta Banerjee in New Delhi.

“It was wonderful meeting u Mamata Di. Thank u so much for the warm hospitality,” Kejriwal tweeted on his Tuesday evening meeting with the Trinamool Congress leader. The meeting took place at the house of Trinamool MP and Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee.

Asked about the meeting with Kejriwal, Mamata said both of them discussed a range of issues including politics.

She said the Delhi chief minister has also invited her to attend a seminar on cooperative federalism here on September 22. The invite has been extended to other Chief Ministers as well. “When elections were held in Delhi and he had won in a massive majority, I had congratulated him that time. Today I met him and congratulated him for his success,” she said.
