Magnitude 7 earthquake strikes Alaska

The Pacific Ocean Tsunami Warning Center said there was no threat to the Hawaiian Islands. According to the report of the news agency AP, officials after the devastating earthquake canceled the warning of a tsunami alert issued in Alaska.

Alaska’s southern Kenai Peninsula was shocked after the powerful 7 magnitude earthquake struck. Here the earthquake was so devastating that the roads were cracked open. People started running around to safer places. Earthquake was so dangerous that after this there were 40 aftershocks.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was centered in 7 miles north of the state’s largest city Anchorage. After the earthquake, electricity was lost in a large area, after which about 10 thousand people spent the night in the dark. Many buildings and bridges have collapsed since the earthquake. About 3 lakh people live in the surrounding area and 1 lakh people live in Anchorage.
