Two day long state level athletic meet to begin from Saturday
Dehradun: A two-day state-level annual athletic meet will begin from Saturday at Maharana Pratap Sports College in the state capital. The event is being jointly organized by the Uttarakhand athletic association and the sports department.
An official of the sports department said that over 300 athletes are expected to participate in 13 sports disciplines including 100m, 200m, long distance races, high jumps and discus throw.
Sports secretary Sailesh Bagoli will inaugurate the meet.
The lodging and boarding arrangements for the participants have been made at the venue. Manoj Sharma, principal, Maharana Pratap Sports College, said, “All preparations have been completed and the college will provide all possible support for making the meet a grand success.”
