Nainital: The city of lakes is all geared up to enjoy the Second Governor’s Gold Cup Sailing Regatta, 2015 which will be inaugurated on Sunday by chief minister Harish Rawat, who is also the chief guest at the event. The sporting event will be held for from October 11-14.

Other dignitaries along with the governor K K Paul and veterans from the National Yacht Club will also attend the opening ceremony. Gaurav Suyal, joint secretary of NTYC said, “It is going to be an interesting competition.”

The event has created a buzz in the entire region among sailing enthusiasts as well as ordinary people. Veterans and amateur sailors not only from the state but also from the other parts of the country have already arrived in the city to experience sailing in the highest fresh water lake in the world.

Last year, the duel between colourful sails and winds enthralled the audience as well as participants who battled their way through the still but tricky waters of the Naini lake. The event which had already become a talking point in the entire region has now attracted even more audience this time.
