Dehradun railway station to get a facelift

Recently while speaking at an event in Mussoorie, AK Puthia, CM, Northern Railway said that due to the high inflow of tourists in Dehradun, it was imperative that the city railway station should be developed as a model station and should have all the modern facilities. The station should be widened and all the platforms should be repaired. Special attention should be given to hygiene and cleanliness. Northern Railway was also planning to increase trains by 20% during the Ardh Kumbh mela. There was also a plan to run full-length (24 coaches) train between Haridwar and Dehradun.

The railways was also planning to develop a complex on the land that has already been vacated by the Uttarakhand Transport Department. Hopefully Dehradun station will also be extended, but there are no plans to introduce trains till Mussoorie.
