On Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary CM Rawat and other ministers to inaugurate Indira Amma Bhojanalaya in various parts of the state

Dehradun: On the occasion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary, Chief Minister Harish Rawat and other high profile ministers will be inaugurating the hugely popular Indira Amma Bhojanalaya in various districts across Uttarakhand.

The Indira Amma Bhojanalaya is a scheme started by the Uttarakhand government to provide nutritious meal to all at subsidized rate. Initially one Indira Amma Bhojanalaya was opened in Dehradun as a pilot project, and after seeing its success, the government decided to open one such canteen in every district of the state.

The Indira Amma Bhojanalaya will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Harish Rawat in Pauri, Dr Indira Hridayesh  in Haridwar, Dr Harak Rawat in Uttarkashi and Tehri, Yashpal Arya in Nainital, Mantri Prasad Naithani in Udham Singh Nagar, Harish Chandra Durgapal in Pithoragarh and Champawat, Pritam Singh Panwar in Rudraprayag and Chamoli and Surendra Singh Naithani in Almora.

Besides providing nutritious food at subsidized rates, the canteens also help promote the local cuisines of Uttarakhand.
