Xiaomi Redmi Note Prime : Second ‘Make In India’ product from Xiomi

The Chinese company in a press note confirms that the Redmi Note Prime is the second ‘Made in India’ smartphone after the Redmi 2 Prime, which was launched in August this year. Much like the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime, the Redmi Note Prime will be manufactured in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, in partnership with Foxconn. At this price point, Xiaomi’s new Redmi Note Prime will be up against the popular Lenovo K3 Note.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. The Redmi Note Prime runs on Android 4.4 KitKat-based MIUI 7. On the connectivity front, the device sports GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, Bluetooth v4.0, FM radio, microUSB 2.0, USB-OTG and GPS/ A-GPS. A 3100mAh battery completes the package.

The smartphone runs on Android Lollipop operating system with MIUI on top and will be available online on amazon.in and mi.com
