Doon to hold two day literature festival from April 22 onward

Dehradun is all set to join the list of hosts of literature festivals when it holds its first such event next week.

At least 25 top authors, including Ashwin Sanghi, Nayantara Sehgal and Durjoy Dutta, and leading publishers will attend the first two-day Dehradun Literature Festival from April 22. The festival will see discussion and reading sessions, book fair and musical performances.

Besides, visitors will also get an opportunity to relish scrumptious in-house gourmet world cuisines and interact with best-selling authors at the venue overlooking the hill town of Mussoorie. The festival is being organised by World Integrity Centre, India, along with the Harvard Club of India and Springhead Communications.

“The Dehradun Literature Festival 2016 is an endeavour to enrich life in Dehradun and to create a legacy that the children of Dehradun can inherit,” says Nazia Yusuf Izuddin, founder and president of the WIC India.

In the opening session, authors Ranjit Lal and Dev Lahiri will deliberate on why imagination is more powerful than knowledge. On the second day, Sahgal and Kota Neelima will talk about religion and politics.
