Nanital FC lakes beat Udham Singh Nagar Warriors FC 5-1 in USL

Tanakpur: Nainital FC Lakes, the team representing the lake district of Uttarakhand in the ongoing Uttarakhand Super League scored a comprehensive win in their first match of the tournament. Playing against Udham Singh Nagar Warriors, the team found the opponent’s goal 5 times while the warriors could score just a solitary goal. Nirmal Bisht of Nainital FC Lakes was adjudged the man of the match.

Pithoragarh Matches shifted to Tanakpur

The Group B matches initially slated to be held in football loving Pithoragarh had to be shifted due to the weather conditions prevailing there. Those matches will now be held at Tanakpur.

Rain plays spoilsport in Dehradun

Dehradun Capital Ranger and Uttarkashi Glaciers were supposed to lock horns in their second round encounter, but heavy rains prevented the match from taking place. Heavy rainfall lashed the Doon Valley last evening leaving the conditions at Pavilion ground (venue of the match) unsuitable as per the match officials. With the match being washed out, both teams were awarded 1 point.

Haridwar Ganges defeat Pauri Platoons 3-1

Pauri Platoons were unable to salvage their USL 2016 campaign losing their second straight match; this time against Haridwar Ganges. The match had been suspended on 12th July evening due to bad light with Haridwar leading 2-1 was completed yesterday with Haridwar Ganges scoring another goal in the 88th minute to register a comprehensive victory.
