Dehradun police starts issuing e-challan for traffic violation

The e-challan scheme has been implemented in the capital. On Thursday, SSP Arun Mohan Joshi duly launched it by handing over an e-challan machine to traffic policemen. The traffic police first issued the fine to BJP leader. BJP leaders themselves approached the policemen for violating traffic rules and got a challan of hundred rupees. Drivers who violated traffic rules were e-challaned at the launch of the scheme started under the pilot project at Dilaram Chowk. The first challan was made by BJP leader Arun Kharbanda, resident of Kanvali Road. He himself approached the police to clear the challan and told the police that he did not have his number plate. A hundred rupees were e-challaned against the BJP leader.
