PM Modi visits Kedarnath; lays foundation stone of rope way project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished everyone happiness and prosperity by performing Rudrabhishek at Kedarnath Dham. After becoming the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi reached Kedarnath for the sixth time on Friday. The Prime Minister also visited the Adi Guru Shankaracharya Samadhi Sthal and reviewed the work in progress along with Mandakini Asthapath and Saraswati Asthapath. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Retd.), Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were also present on the occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of a ropeway from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. With the construction of this 9.7 km ropeway to be built at a cost of Rs 1267 crore, it will be easy for the devotees to have offer obeisance to Lord Shiva at Kedarnath.

It currently takes six to seven hours for the devotees to reach Kedarnath from Gaurikund, with the construction of this ropeway, this journey will be completed in just half an hour.

Inspection of development works

After worshiping Baba Kedar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Mandakini Aastha Path and Saraswati Aastha Path and inspected the development works here. During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took stock of the various reconstruction and development works going on in Kedarnath. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami informed the Prime Minister about the progress of various development works.
