Tungnath & Madmaheshwar opening dates for 2023 announced
The date of opening of second Kedar Madmaheshwar and third Kedar Tungnath for 2023 has been announced. On May 22, the second Kedar Madmaheshwar and on April 26, the doors of the third Kedar Lord Tungnath will open for devotees. The portals of the third Kedar Lord Tungnath will be opened at 10:50 am.
Every year, auspicious days are fixed for the opening and closing of the doors of Kedarnath as well as the second and third Kedar. According to the centuries-old tradition, on the day of Baisakhi festival Sankranti, the date of opening of doors of second Kedar Madmaheshwar temple in Omkareshwar Ukhimath and third Kedar Tungnath temple in Markandeya temple Makkumath is decided.
Today, on Friday, the date of opening of the Madmaheshwar and third Tungnath was declared on the occasion of Baisakhi festival. The date and time of opening the portals of the third Kedar Lord Tungnath was announced in the Markandeshwar temple Makkumath and for the second Kedar Lord Madmaheshwar in Omkareshwar temple with the help of the almanac calculations.
The Chardham Yatra of the year 2023 is starting from 22 April in Uttarakhand. On 22nd, on Akshaya Tritiya, the doors of Gangotri Dham and Yamunotri Dham will be opened for the devotees with proper rituals.
