Uttarakhand weather update: Yellow alert for rain-snowfall issued for 5 districts

Winter season was on the verge of exiting in Uttarakhand when in the meantime the weather has changed once again. Rain has started in most of the hilly and plain districts of the state, while due to snowfall in the high altitude mountains, it has started getting cold once again.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert across the state today. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain and snow in many places of Uttarakhand state today. There is a possibility of snowfall especially in the areas of altitude of 3500 meters and above. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning, due to which the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. The people of Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar may find it difficult due to rain snowfall.

Since this morning, there is heavy snowfall in the upper areas of Kedarnath and Uttarkashi. While, light to heavy rain is falling in the plains districts and low-lying areas of mountain ranges since last night. Due to the rain and snowfall, the cold has increased significantly in the mountains. For the last three days, the process of rain and snowfall continues in the district, due to which the temperature is falling sharply and it is getting cold. It is raining intermittently in the low lying areas. On Friday too, there has been a lot of snowfall in the mountainous areas of Uttarakhand.
