Justin Bieber arrives in India for ‘Purpose’ world tour concert

After months of assumptions, debates and discussions, Justin Bieber’s highly anticipated visit to India has finally taken shape. The Canadian pop sensation landed in Mumbai at midnight amid a throng of security and shutterbugs.
Wearing shorts and a pink hoodie, Bieber landed at the Kalina airport in a chartered flight, amidst the loud cheer of his fans. He was escorted by Salman Khan’s bodygaurd, Shera, to the Rolls Royce in which he was driven to his hotel.

In what is his maiden trip to India, Bieber is all set to perform at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on May 10, post which the Cold Water singer will get a whiff of India by visiting historical monuments across Mumbai, Jaipur and New Delhi.
Titled the ‘Purpose World Tour’, around 45,000 ‘Beliebers’ are expected to be in attendance for the Grammy- winning singer’s first-ever show in India at Navi Mumbai’s D Y Patil Stadium. Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said 500 security personnel along with 25 officers have been deployed to ensure proper security at the stadium, with drone cameras keeping a constant watch.

The opening acts for Bieber’s gig include artistes such as DJ Sartek, DJ Zaeden and Norwegian DJ Alan Walker. The performances will begin at 4 PM with DJ Sartek opening the concert.

Bieber and his entourage are reportedly on a seven-day-long trip to India, which will include a visit to the Taj Mahal, an elaborate spread of Indian cuisines and a barrage of expensive gifts for the pop sensation. Prior to his India trip, Bieber also performed in Dubai and tweeted out saying, “Dubai is incredible… India you are next. @Amit_Bhatia99 u ready? #PurposeTourStadiums.”
