Cab/Taxi drivers to go on state wide strike in Uttarakhand on 27 September

In the Garhwal and Kumaon division, the mountain taxi Federation has warned operators not to operate all the vehiclesin the concerned Transport Offices by going on statewide strike on September 27. The federation said that this decision was taken because the speed governor and other demands were not disposed of.

Federation president Rakesh Batwal and Secretary Mahavir Bahuguna said that despite their repeated talks with the administration, their demands are not being resolved. In the Federation meeting, the owners of the vehicles have decided not to operate the vehicles from September 27, in protest against the penalties for installation of speed governor, and the penalty for the same offense. All commercial transport professionals of Garhwal and Kumaon Mandal will deposit their papers in offices of vehicles and park their vehicles in their garage or house in protest against this. They said that if the government has this attitude, then the federation would also be unmoved in its agitation.
