5 day long Gurau fair begins in Mana village

The five-day Gurau Fair, which is being organized in Mana, the last village of the country from generations before the closure of Badrinath Dham for the winter season , started on Friday. In the fair, the pilgrims also joined in large numbers and enjoyed the folk tradition of the region.

On the first day of the fair, villagers of Bhotia worshiped the goddess Durga through religious dances. After the fair is concluded, the villagers will leave for their winter migration. According to public beliefs, before going to the lower places for the winter migration, the villagers of Bhotia wish for the protection and prosperity of the village.
