India hammer Sri Lanka by an innings and 239 runs in Nagpur test

Dominant would be an understatement to describe the performance of team India against neighbors Sri Lanka in the second test at Nagpur. The toss was the only thing that went the way of the visitors as they suffered a mauling by the hosts led by skipper Virat Kohli.

Ashwin Fastest to 300 test wickets

Ravi Ashwin broke the record for fastest to 300 wickets held by Dennis Lille when he bowled the last Lankan batsman to give India an innings win. Ashwin bettered the mark in his 54th test while Lille reached the figure in his 56th match. Such has been the competition in the Indian bowling pool that even with these impressive numbers Ashwin is not a certainty in the playing 11 when the team tours South Africa later.

With this win on the 4th day of the match India go 1-0 up in the 3 match test series with the first test in Kolkata ending in a draw.
