Shooting range to be established in Uttarakhand after Central Sports Ministers assurance

Union Minister of State for Sports Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has agreed to set up a shooting range in Uttarakhand to promote sports. At the request of Chief Minister Trivandrum Rawat they agreed for this.

In Delhi the Chief Minister met Union Minister of State for Sports Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. Union Minister said that Uttarakhand has a pool of talent waiting to be unearthed. The well planned development of infrastructure in Uttarakhand can yield excellent results in sports. The Chief Minister said that all sports facilities have been developed at the International Sports Complex in Haldwani, Nainital district.

In this, international level cricket stadiums, indoor stadiums, swimming pools, outdoor sports fields have been made. The Chief Minister requested the Union Sports Minister to set up the College of Sports Coaching and Sports Management in Haldwani.

The Chief Minister said that outdoor stadium has been constructed in Pauri’s Ransi. In this, the construction of hostel for the 400-meter athletics track, pavilion and the players has been completed. Ransi Stadium, which is located at an altitude of more than 6000 feet above sea level, could also have a High Altitude Center.

The Chief Minister said that proposals have been sent to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for creation and management of infrastructure facilities for 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.

Discussions were also held regarding Maharana Pratap Sports Stadium, Dehradun, for future of cricket events.
