Spice Jet has also issued a statement regarding this incident. A spokesperson of the airline said that on May 23, 2021, a travel agent from Madurai had booked the flight. It was booked as a ‘joy ride’ after marriage. The airline says that agents and guest passengers were informed about the Covid guidelines and were told not to do any activity on the flight. Guidelines were cited to them several times during the airport and travel. It also included a ban on photography and videography.
