Access to Ganga valley cutoff after bridge breaks in Uttarkashi

The Valley Bridge was built on Gangotri Highway in Uttarkashi on Assighat on Ganges river in Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi. Due to which the contact with Ganga valley headquarters has broken. Gangotri valley has become isolated due to breakdown of bridge. There has been a traffic jam for several kilometers.

This incident occurred early in the morning. An overloaded truck spelled doom for the bridge when the vehicle was midway on the bridge There was a ban on the movement of heavy vehicles on this bridge. As soon as the news of the collapse of the bridge reached administration officials reached the spot. The truck drivers had left the car and fled before the police could reach the spot. No one is injured in the accident.

The Gangori bridge was swept away in the aftermath of the devastating flood in the Ganga in Assighat in the August 2012 disaster. After 20 days of which the Border Roads Organization had prepared the Valley Bridge. This disaster has taken 5 years but the government has not yet cured this bridge.
