IMA Passing Out Parade 2017: Indian Army gets 409 officers
‘Bharat Mata Teri Kasam, Tere Rakshak Banenge Hum’ keeping this song of IMA in mind, 409 officers were inducted into the Indian Army. 409 young men became part of the Indian Army when the last leg of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) was completed. Along with this, 78 foreign cadets also passed out from the prestigious institution.
Bangladesh Army Chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq took the salute of the parade. The parade was inaugurated with the markers call at 8.50 a.m. in the morning. Subsequently, Sergeant Major of various companies took their place on Drill Square.
With advance call on 8.55 am, the cadets arrived amidst a warm welcome for the parade. After this Parade commander Chandrakant Acharya took his place on Drill Square.
On this occasion, Bangladesh army chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq said that there have been friendly relations between India and Bangladesh for years. We do not share boundraies only, but India also has geographical, social and cultural parallels in Bangladesh.
He said that the arrival of a reviewing officer in the IMA parade has resulted in the feeling of pride. This moment will take relations between India and Bangladesh further ahead. Especially the foundation of relationships between the two armies has been strengthened. He recalled the support shown by the Indian army in 1971 war that led to independence of Bangladesh.
Chandrakant Acharya was awarded the prestigious Sword of Honor and gold medal, Amarpreet Singh was awarded silver medal and Saurabh Das was awarded bronze. Ranavat Yadagiri received the Silver Medal (TG). Alexander of Tajikistan, was elected the best foreign cadet. Banner Naushera got the banner of Chief of Army Staff Banner.
