Magnitude 5.0 Earthquake strikes Uttararkhand and adjoining regions

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the richter scale having its epicenter in Uttarakhand struck today at 8:40pm. The tremors were also felt in Himachal Pradesh, NCR and Western UP. The epicenter was 92 km NE of Rishikesh around Rudraprayag. No loss of life or property had been reported at the time of writing.

Severe tremors of earthquake were felt in all the districts of Uttarakhand including Chamoli, Uttarkashi, New Tehri, Dehradun and Haridwar. After these shocks, people have an atmosphere of panic and came out of their homes as precaution.
