School children make a narrow escape after school bus loses control and nearly falls into gorge

35 students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Devalthal alongwith bus driver and cleaner had a narrow escape after their school bus lost control on a hill bend and swung mid air over a deep gorge. While allowing for passing the vehicle coming from the front of the bus bringing the children to school the driver lost control of the vehicle. A child was injured in a stampede in the bus.

On Saturday morning, at 9.30 pm, Saraswati Vidya Mandir was going to school with the children. While giving a vehicle side coming from the front on the Pithoragarh-Thal route, the driver lost control and the bus slid dangerously close to the gorge. During this time, 35 children in the bus started shouting as the bus went away from the road and  towards the gorge. Dharmendra Kohli, a child studying in Class VI, has received minor injury due to the bus accident.

The people around the place immediately saw the bus swinging above the gorge and took the children out safely. Children’s relatives also reached at notice of this.
