Cold wave continues to grip United Kingdom; temperature to plummet more

Siberian cold winds and ice have created a cold wave in the UK. With even more cold weather predicted in the coming days, the authorities have asked the elderly and patients to stay indoors.

Mercury has started falling here since Wednesday. For the next fifteen days, alerts are ongoing with heavy snow in the country.The weather scientist Martin Bowles has warned that by the end of this month there is a widespread snowfall. He said, this week the temperature will continue to decline and it will be very cold by Sunday. “We are confident that there will be heavy snowfall next week. The cold winds will come from the Russian Arctic, where the mercury is currently below -20C (-4F)” he said.
Bowles further said, “In the beginning of the next week we have to face snow and very low temperatures on all sides. Cold wave arriving due to the sudden stratospheric warming pattern (SSW) on the North Pole. Earlier, the SSW pattern was seen in 2013, due to which people in the UK struggled with cold since April.
