Dehradun’s Coronation hospital to be made district hospital

Dehradun is going to get district hospital soon. Ever since Doon Hospital was transformed into a medical college there has been no district hospital in the city. The Health Department is now working in the direction to make Coronation Hospital a District Hospital. Under this campaign, Mahatma Gandhi Eye Hospital will be made a district hospital in connection with Coronation Hospital. The Planning Department is planning to construct a 200-bed hospital on the empty ground in the back of the hospital.
A few days ago, in a program organized at the Coronation Hospital, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had said that the possibility of making Coronation a district hospital is being considered. After that, the health department has also started stepping up in this direction. Under which the Coronation Hospital will be made a district hospital with the budget available under National Health Mission.
NHM Mission Director Yugal Kishore Pant and Director General of Health Dr. Archana Shrivastava have indicated this in a press conference held on Thursday. According to officials, Gandhi Eye Hospital can also be made a district hospital with coronation hospital. Because these two hospitals are located only a few distance from each other in the Dalanwala area.
The Department of Dental,, Eye Department, ENT and Wellness Clinics will be operated in Gandhi Eye Hospital. While female and obstetrics department can be established in Coronation Hospital. Thereby, the pressure of Doon Women Hospital will also be reduced.
