India thrash South Africa by 9 wickets to take 2-0 lead in 6 match series

India scored a win by defeating South Africa in Centurion in an emphatic fashion. This is India’s second consecutive victory in the series. Winning the toss, Indian captain Virat Kohli decided to bowl first. The whole team of South Africa, who came in to bat first, was all out with 118 runs in 32.2 overs. For India, Yujuwendra Chahal got five wickets, Kuldeep Yadav got three and Bhuvi and Bumrah got one wicket each. The Indian team, which had a target of 119 runs, needed only 20.3 overs to seal the deal. India lost only one wicket in the form of Rohit Sharma. Chahal received Man of the Match for his performance in ODIs.

Dhawan and Kohli easily achieved the target

In the beginning of the innings, Rohit scored the runs. After Rohit’s fall, Indian captain Virat Kohli and opener Shikhar Dhawan took the Indian innings ahead. Dhawan scored an unbeaten 51 off 56 balls with 9 fours. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 46 off 50 balls with a six and four boundaries.

Kuldeep-Chahal pair spin a web for South African batsmen

Amla became the first victim of Bhuvneshwar Kumar getting caught behind to Dhoni. De Kock also lost his wicket after Alma was dismissed. South Africa lost 3 wickets when the spinners were introduced reducing then to 51/4. From then on it was a Chahal-Kuldeep show as the spin twins claimed 8 wickets between them for just 42 runs. As a result South Africa scored their lowest total ever at home.

The whole team of South Africa could only manage 118 runs. From India, Chahal claimed a five-wicket haul.  Kuldeep picked up three and one wicket to Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah.
