Bank guard posted in co-operative bank shoots cashier and peon
A security guard shot the cashier and peon in the district co-operative bank in Khetihan, Lohaghat in Champawat district. The guard, posted at Pithoragarh District Co-operative Bank Branch, has shot and killed the bank’s cashier and peon. Since this incident, there is a panic in the bank premises and the area. The police team, including the SP, reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported.
According to the police, Dinesh Bora son Guddu resident of Talla Manar, who was posted in the branch of District Co-operative Bank in Khetikhan, shot dead Lalit Bisht (35) son Prahalad Singh and peon Rajesh Verma son Indra Lal Verma. The guard fled from the spot after committing the crime. After the incident, the cashier’s dead body was lying inside the bank and the body of the peon was 100 meters away from the bank.
The police has sent the body for post mortem. The relatives of the people killed in the incident are demanding the arrest of the guard soon. SDM Pati Nirmala Bisht and legislator Puran Fartyal, SP Dhirendra Gunjiyal reached the site of the incident. The police and administration team led by ADM Hemant Verma has arrested the absconding Bank guard within 2 hours after the murder incident from his village Manar. After arrest, he was taken to Champawat.
