Bus full of passengers falls of bridge in Sitamarhi; 14 people dead

On Saturday evening, a passenger bus in Sitamarhi in Bihar went 25-foot down, breaking the bridge’s guardrail, in which 14 people died. About 20 people were injured. The condition of four of them is serious. The injured were taken to SKMCH for treatment. The bus wreckage is being pulled up by the rescue team. The number of dead is expected to increase.
On Saturday evening, the bus of Chandan Travels was traveling to Aurai  fromMuzaffarpur on NH-77 (Muzaffarpur-Sitamarhi). About 60 people were on board the bus. The driver lost control of the bus as soon as he reached near the Bhansarpatti bridge. The bus break down the railing and went down. Following the information, Commissioner and DM of Muzaffarpur reached there.
The Commissioner has confirmed the death of 11 people. Three of them have been identified. Among them, Nima Khatoon, Ramvaini Chaudhari and Naresh Das. All were residents of Muzaffarpur district. Efforts are being made to identify others. Local people and police administration are engaged in rescue work.
