Cricketer Mohammed Shami’s wife accuses him of torture and extra marital affair
Mohammed Shami has dismissed reports of his extra-marital affair false and said it was a conspiracy to ruin his game. Shami, India’s strike bowler in Test cricket, was playing the Deodhar Trophy in Dharamsala up until Tuesday. On the tour of South Africa, he played a starring role in India’s historic victory in Johannesburg with a five-wicket haul.
A report in news agency ANI on Wednesday morning said Shami’s wife has reportedly claimed that the sportsman is having an illicit affair.
Shami on Wednesday denied allegations of domestic abuse and adultery made by a Facebook account in his wife Hasin Jahan’s name and dismissed them as a conspiracy to malign him. The Facebook user, posing as his wife, earlier posted screenshots of WhatsApp and Messenger conversations, which implied that Shami was having extramarital affairs with various women. She also uploaded photos and phone numbers of the women.
The Indian fast bowler reacted on Twitter and Facebook and said that all the allegations were completely false.
He posted: “Ye jitna bhi news hamara personal life ke bare may chal raha hai, ye sab sarasar jhut hai, ye koi bahut bada humare khilap sajish hai or ye mujhe Badnam karne or mera game kharab karne ka kosis ki ja rahi hai (all these news reports about our personal lives are completely false. This is a big conspiracy against us and there is an attempt to malign me and harm my game.”)
